Stormsurge is the ShadowClan deputy. He's well liked by Shadowstar and fought with her in the first battle to establish the Clans. Stormsurge is strong, intelligent, and has ambition. He could easily be described as a born leader. He was a popular choice amongst the Clan. His fame in battle has come before him. Shadowstar has entrusted the care of her pack in his paws. It is the duty of Stormsurge to organize patrols and just do whatever Shadowstar needs help with. Stormsurge is the only cat Shadowstar sort of trust.

I was going over the timelines and well, there's this odd gap between Shadowstar and Hollystar. I will add Hollystar eventually, but in the books, it sounds like a generation or so has passed since the death of the five original leaders.
